Although the award is called Banadoura d’Or, the actual trophy is made out of tin! Like they say: fenen tankeh beddou jaizeh min tanak. The award is in the shape of a vintage tin can containing the concentrate of Banadoura d’Or (or more dramatically its “essence”). The can embodies the absurdity, humour and originality of the award’s concept.The label features a retro illustration of Bandara.

Special Banadoura Awards 2011:

Type1: This is where it gets hilarious. This section is reserved for “The Bold and The Beautiful”, or more exactly The Weird, The Outrageous and The Beautiful”. The special Banadouras are reminiscent of the previous unofficial out of control version, which was still called Akel Hawa d’Or. They highlight interesting occurrences and odd behaviours in the industry or in the Arab community at large, or that simply have Banadoura written all over them. Suggest a funny title for an award we haven’t covered and designate the winner. Be as creative, as funny and as original as possible. Anything goes and anyone is eligible. Let your imagination guide you!

Type2: The special Banadouras do not have to be necessarily negative, as they will also be honouring those with unique attributes that would not otherwise get any of the currently existing awards out there. It could be anything from sexiest presenter, to funniest politician, so keep that in mind as well. If the title is funny, all the better!
